'''Gough's Great Arrow'''

== In-game description ==

Weapon type: Great Arrow
Attack type: Thrust

Great arrow used by Hawkeye Gough,
one of Lord Gwyn's Four Knights,
for dragon slaying. Requires Greatbow.

Gough personally crafts each stone tip,
and wraps the shaft tightly with tree bark.

== Locations ==
=== Merchant purchase ===
Oolacile tower above the Artorias arena

Cost: 650 Souls

Stock: ∞

'''Requirements'''
* Obtain the Crest Key and keep Gough alive and friendly.

# Enter the DLC through Dusk's cave after freeing her and obtaining the Broken Pendant. Defeat Sanctuary Guardian, cross Royal Wood and defeat Artorias.
# Descend through Oolacile Township. In the large building with the later light-revealed side room, drop into the room beneath the wooden floor and defeat the Mimic for the Crest Key.
# Return to the Artorias arena approach. Take the stairs around its outside wall, unlock the tower door with the Crest Key and climb the ladder to Gough. Speak to him without attacking.
# Buy Gough's Great Arrow from Hawkeye Gough's ammunition inventory.

=== Treasure pickup ===
Royal Wood: cliff above Kalameet

'''Requirements'''
* Reach Royal Wood in the DLC.

# From Oolacile Sanctuary, cross the bridge into Royal Wood. Continue through the first woodland and over the next bridge into the darker forest beyond Kalameet's brief flyover.
# Explore the raised forest edge with the patrolling Stone Guardians. Follow the outer cliff toward the corpse overlooking Kalameet's ravine, near the Guardian Armor pickup.
# Defeat or draw away the nearby guardian, then collect eight great arrows from the corpse at the cliff edge. You do not need to unlock Gough's tower first.

=== Treasure pickup ===
Royal Wood: Kalameet basin

# From the Artorias arena approach, take the downhill trail beside the nearby lift. Pass the dogs, follow the stream and descend the ladder into Kalameet's basin.
# For a safer visit, first encounter the dragon, unlock Gough's tower with the Crest Key and ask for his help. Defeat the grounded Kalameet before searching the arena.
# Collect three great arrows from the corpse at the far end of the basin. This is separate from the eight-arrow woodland pickup and the chest behind the waterfall.

'''Notes for this route'''
* The corpse can be reached while Kalameet is alive, but collecting it under the dragon's attacks is dangerous.

== Notes ==
* Equipping and firing: Equip in an arrow slot and use a compatible greatbow. Ordinary arrows and bolts do not work in its place.
* Reinforcement and scaling: Ammunition cannot be reinforced. Improve the bow or crossbow itself, and meet that weapon's requirements. This ammunition has no independent attribute scaling; the launcher, distance, hit location and target defenses affect the final damage.
* Greatbow compatibility: The DLC great arrow works with both Gough's Greatbow and Dragonslayer Greatbow. It is not exclusive to Gough's weapon, and an ordinary bow cannot fire it.
* Power, range and price: Has 105 base physical attack, five more than Dragonslayer Arrow, but begins losing damage at a shorter distance when used with the same greatbow. The extra base power is not a fixed five-point increase in final HP damage. Gough also charges more per arrow than the Giant Blacksmith charges for Dragonslayer Arrows.
* Purchases and fixed bundles: Gough sells unlimited stock once you can reach his tower. Killing Kalameet is not required to open the shop. The separate Royal Wood pickups provide eight arrows on the forest cliff and three in the dragon's basin; they do not respawn at bonfires.
