Feather Arrow

In-game description

Weapon type: Arrow

Attack type: Thrust

Red feather arrows of the Lord's hunters.
Their long range makes them effective for
sniping.

Locations

Merchant purchase

Sen's Fortress

Cost: 100 Souls

Stock: ∞

Requirements

  • Open Sen's Fortress by ringing both bells.
  • Keep the Crestfallen Merchant alive and friendly.
  1. Ring both bells and climb the fortress beyond Andre, passing the boulders and swinging blades until you reach the open roof.
  2. Take a running jump over the gap in the upper walkway leading to a separate tower. Enter that tower and speak to the armored merchant.
  3. Buy Feather Arrow from the Crestfallen Merchant's ammunition inventory.

Merchant purchase

Anor Londo

Cost: 100 Souls

Stock: ∞

Requirements

  • Keep the Giant Blacksmith alive and friendly.
  1. Reach the cathedral interior beyond the Silver Knight archers. From the upper floor above the main hall, take the side stairs leading down toward the blacksmith.
  2. Find the seated giant working at the anvil and speak to him. Open the nearby outside door for a shorter return route. You can shop before defeating Ornstein and Smough.
  3. Buy Feather Arrow from the Giant Blacksmith's ammunition inventory.

Merchant purchase

Royal Wood

Cost: 200 Souls

Stock: ∞

Requirements

  • Access Artorias of the Abyss.
  • Keep Marvellous Chester alive and friendly.
  1. Defeat the Darkroot Basin Hydra, reload and follow the lake edge to the rear cave. Defeat the Golden Crystal Golem and speak to Dusk. After placing the Lordvessel, kill the blue golem near the Archives entrance lift for the Broken Pendant. Return to the cave, use the portal and defeat Sanctuary Guardian.
  2. Cross the bridge from Oolacile Sanctuary and work through Royal Wood. Before entering Artorias's boss fog, cross the nearby bridge to the seated man leaning against the wall. Speak to Chester and open his shop.
  3. Buy Feather Arrow from Marvellous Chester's ammunition inventory.

Notes for this route

  • Killing the real Chester removes this shop. His separate invading phantom is a different encounter.

Treasure pickup

Darkroot Basin

  1. From Andre's workshop in Undead Parish, pass through the Titanite Demon room and enter Darkroot Garden. Take the downhill branch near the beginning of the garden to descend into Darkroot Basin.
  2. Follow the winding cliff path past the Crystal Lizard. At the broader branching section, move onto the lower side ledge rather than continuing all the way down toward the Black Knight.
  3. Search the corpse on that ledge for the Long Bow, Leather armor pieces and 16 Feather Arrows. Neither the Hydra nor Havel needs to be defeated for this pickup.

Notes

  • Equipping and firing: Equip in an arrow slot and use an ordinary bow. This ammunition cannot be fired by a greatbow or crossbow.
  • Reinforcement and scaling: Ammunition cannot be reinforced. Improve the bow or crossbow itself, and meet that weapon's requirements. This ammunition has no independent attribute scaling; the launcher, distance, hit location and target defenses affect the final damage.
  • Long-distance shots: Has 50 base physical attack and a longer effective range than Standard or Large Arrows. It can keep useful power at distances where a heavier Large Arrow has already lost more damage.
  • Bow choice still matters: The arrow does not turn every bow into the same long-range weapon. The bow's own range and any range-changing equipment still affect the shot. There is no guaranteed damage value for every target at a stated distance.
  • Supply: The early Darkroot Basin bundle contains 16. The Crestfallen Merchant and Giant Blacksmith sell unlimited replacements; Chester also supplies them in the DLC at a higher price.
