The Abyss

Requirements

• Meet Kaathe before committing the Lordvessel through Frampt.
• Have 30 Humanity available to offer.

1. Keep the Lordvessel unplaced while opening New Londo. Defeat Sif for the Covenant of Artorias, drain New Londo and wear that ring to survive the Abyss.
2. Defeat the Four Kings and speak to Kaathe. Follow his dialogue, join the Darkwraith covenant and offer a total of 30 Humanity to reach rank +2.
3. Receive the four armor pieces as the covenant reward.

Notes for this route

• Leaving the covenant can reduce its offered-Humanity credit. Merely carrying 30 Humanity does not grant the reward.

Notes

• Pieces: Dark Mask, Dark Armor, Dark Gauntlets, Dark Leggings.
• Full outfit: Together these pieces weigh 25.2 and provide 40 poise. Each slot can be worn separately.
• Reinforcement: Every piece uses Twinkling Titanite to reach +5.
• Reward threshold: The armor is the rank +2 Darkwraith reward, alongside the Dark Sword. Ordinary New Londo Darkwraith enemies do not drop the set.
• Later equipment use: Once obtained, the armor can be worn without remaining in the covenant. It does not require a continuous Humanity balance.
