Darkroot Basin

1. From Andre, enter Darkroot Garden and take the branching cliff path down toward Darkroot Basin.
2. Follow the descending ledges and inspect the corpse partway down the trail. Collect the Leather Armor, Leather Gloves and Leather Boots with the Longbow and arrows.
3. The hat is not on this corpse. It comes from the archer in the Forest Hunter section of Darkroot Garden.

1. Enter the forest beyond the Crest of Artorias door, or climb the ladders beside the Hydra's waterfall to reach the same side.
2. Find the bow-wielding Forest Hunter among the human guardians in the woods. Defeat the archer and collect Pharis's Hat with the Black Bow of Pharis.

Notes for this route

• Attacking the forest guardians after joining their covenant betrays it. The archer does not respawn.

• Pieces: Pharis's Hat, Leather Armor, Leather Gloves, Leather Boots.
• Full outfit: Together these pieces weigh 11.5 and provide 0 poise. Each slot can be worn separately.
• Reinforcement: Every piece uses ordinary Titanite materials to reach +10.
• Separate headgear: The Hunter starts with the three Leather pieces and an uncovered head. Pharis's Hat comes from a separate forest encounter, not from character creation or the basin corpse.
