In-game description

Miracle granted to those bound by covenant
to Gwyndolin, Lord Gwyn's lastborn.
Boost right weapon with rays of Darkmoon.

The power of the rays of the Darkmoon are
manifested in vengeance, and the deeper the
animus, the more devastating the attack.

Where to find

Quest or covenant reward

Darkmoon Tomb, Anor Londo

Requirements

  • Keep Gwyndolin alive.
  1. Collect the Darkmoon Seance Ring from the Catacombs. In Anor Londo, lower the rotating central staircase fully and descend to the Darkmoon Tomb bonfire.
  2. Wear the ring in front of the statue to reveal the passage. Kneel at the covenant interaction before Gwyndolin's fog and join the Blades of the Darkmoon.
  3. Offer ten Souvenirs of Reprisal to reach rank +1 and receive Darkmoon Blade with the Darkmoon Talisman.
  • Do not enter the boss fog for this route. Killing Gwyndolin removes covenant access and the ability to use Darkmoon Blade.

Notes

  • Requirements and charges: Requires 30 Faith. Uses 1 attunement slot and provides 1 charge per attuned copy before equipment modifiers.
  • Casting tool: Cast with a talisman. Most talismans gain Magic Adjustment from Faith, while Velka's Talisman uses Intelligence and the Thorolund Talisman has fixed power. The spell's own Faith requirement still applies.
  • Covenant copy limit: This covenant reward is awarded once per character. Rejoining or beginning a later journey does not supply an extra copy to stack in another attunement slot.
  • Weapon enchantment: Adds magic attack power for 60 seconds to a compatible right-hand weapon, using a talisman in the left hand. Despite the name, the added damage is magic rather than lightning.
  • Rank scaling: The added magic attack power is 1.9 times talisman Magic Adjustment at covenant rank +1, 2.0 at +2 and 2.1 at +3. At rank +0 the factor is 1.8 if you retain the spell after a rank loss.
  • Covenant restriction: Requires current Blades of the Darkmoon membership and a living Gwyndolin. It replaces other coatings and weapon enchantments rather than stacking with them.
