In-game description

Weapon type: Ultra Greatsword
Attack type: Regular

This sword, one of the rare dragon weapons,
came from the tail of the stone dragon of
Ash Lake, descendant of the ancient dragons.

Its great mystical power will be unleashed
when wielded with two hands.

Where to find

Tail cut

Ash Lake

Requirements

  • Reach the Everlasting Dragon at the far end of Ash Lake.
  1. In the Blighttown swamp, enter the giant hollow tree and strike the illusory wall behind the chest. Strike the second hidden wall behind it to enter the Great Hollow.
  2. Descend the branches and ladders to the mushroom area, then pass through to Ash Lake. Watch for lethal falls and curse from basilisks on the descent.
  3. Follow the sandbar along the lake to the dragon's nest at its far end. Walk behind the peaceful dragon and strike its tail until the Dragon Greatsword is awarded. The tail cut does not make this dragon hostile.
  • Before obtaining bonfire warping, returning requires climbing out of the Great Hollow. Consider that return trip before resting deep below.

Notes

  • Requirements and weight: Requires 50 Strength, 10 Dexterity and weighs 24.
  • No attribute scaling: Has high base physical attack but no attribute scaling. Needs 50 Strength in one hand or 34 when two-handed, plus 10 Dexterity.
  • Shockwave: The two-handed strong attacks release shockwaves and spend 50 durability per use. Its maximum durability is 400, so special attacks wear it down quickly.
  • Defense bonus: Adds 20 to magic defense and 20 to fire defense while active. Those are defense points, not a flat 20% reduction to incoming damage.
  • Reinforcement and buffs: Reinforce to +5 with Dragon Scales. There are no normal or elemental conversion paths. Cannot use pine resins or weapon-enchantment spells.
