In-game description

Coin made of gold, with Allfather Lloyd
and his white halo shown on its face.

Even coins of great value in the world of
men have little value in Lordran, where the
accepted currency is souls.

Those who dream of returning to the outside
world are fond of carrying these around.

Where to find

Gift or encounter reward

Anor Londo mansion Mimic

  1. Reach the mansion interior beyond the Silver Knight archers. From the bonfire rooms, climb through the connected upper rooms to the floor containing two treasure-shaped Mimics.
  2. Check the chests carefully and defeat the Mimic containing Gold Coin. Collect the Gold Coin drop.

Treasure pickup

Royal Wood

  1. Cross into the later section of Royal Wood beyond the stone bridge. Explore the darker forest and follow its outer cliff edge near the Scarecrow groups.
  2. Collect the Gold Coin from the corpse by the edge. The nearby previously passive Scarecrows become hostile after the pickup.

Notes

  • Frampt exchange: Feed each coin to Kingseeker Frampt for 5,000 souls. This is an exchange, not a direct-use soul item.
  • No passive effect: Does not raise Item Discovery or give a temporary luck buff. Its value is separate from the soul reward for killing the Mimic.
  • One-time supply: A killed Mimic does not respawn when you rest. Its guaranteed treasure is a fixed pickup rather than an ordinary repeatable farming drop.
