Requirements

  • Open Sen's Fortress by ringing both bells.
  • Keep the Crestfallen Merchant alive and friendly.
  1. Ring both bells and climb the fortress beyond Andre, passing the boulders and swinging blades until you reach the open roof.
  2. Take a running jump over the gap in the upper walkway leading to a separate tower. Enter that tower and speak to the armored merchant.
  3. Buy Black Firebomb from the Crestfallen Merchant's purchase menu.

Requirements

  • Access Artorias of the Abyss.
  • Keep Marvellous Chester alive and friendly.
  1. Free Dusk in Darkroot Basin and obtain the Broken Pendant from the first Crystal Golem in the Duke's Archives. Return to Dusk's cave, use the portal and defeat Sanctuary Guardian.
  2. Cross Royal Wood to the stone arena where Artorias waits. Before entering the boss fog, cross the nearby bridge and find Chester leaning against the wall. Speak to him and open his shop.
  3. Buy Black Firebomb from Marvellous Chester's purchase menu.
  • Killing the real Chester removes this shop. His separate invading phantom is a different encounter.

Character creation

  1. Select Black Firebomb as the starting gift when making a new character. Start the game with 10 in your inventory.

Treasure pickup

Undead Burg

  1. From the Burg bonfire, cross the short bridge under the firebomb throwers and enter the buildings on the far side.
  2. Explore the adjoining residence and balcony route, clearing the Hollows, then open the chest containing five Black Firebombs.

Notes

  • Fire attack: Thrown explosive with 250 base fire attack power before target defense. It does not gain ordinary Strength, Dexterity, Intelligence or Faith scaling.
  • Aiming: Follows a throwing arc. A railing, doorway or elevation change can make a locked-on throw miss or explode early.
  • Supply: The starting gift provides an early way to kill Asylum Demon during the first encounter, before collecting your normal weapons. Later merchants sell replacements.
