ancient stone. Yet men of this time can

Duke's Archives: entrance golem

Requirements

  • Rescue Dusk in Darkroot Basin and speak to her.
  • Place the Lordvessel to open the Archives approach.
  1. Reach the Hydra lake in Darkroot Basin and defeat the Hydra. Stay away from the deep-water edge, which is a fatal drop.
  2. Reload the area and follow the lake edge into the rear cave. Defeat the Golden Crystal Golem, then speak to the freed Dusk.
  3. After placing the Lordvessel, enter the Duke's Archives from Anor Londo. Pass the armored boars and ride the entrance lift.
  4. Kill the blue Crystal Golem near the beginning of the library for the Broken Pendant. If you killed it before rescuing Dusk, return after meeting her and let it respawn.
  5. Return to the rear cave in Darkroot Basin. Examine the dark portal where Dusk was imprisoned to enter the DLC.

Notes

  • DLC entrance: This is the key item for entering the Artorias of the Abyss areas. Dark Souls Remastered already includes those areas.
  • Dusk requirement: Free Dusk and speak to her before expecting the pendant drop. You do not need to summon her shop or buy her sorceries.
  • Three different pendants: Broken Pendant opens the DLC route. Silver Pendant is a reusable defensive tool found inside it. The ordinary Pendant starting gift cannot replace either item.
  • Progression: You can obtain the pendant before the Archives prison sequence or defeating Seath. The blue golem is near the entrance, not in the later Crystal Cave garden.
  • Later journeys: DLC access resets in New Game Plus. Repeat the rescue and pendant steps rather than expecting the portal to remain open.
