NPC gift

Anor Londo: Chamber of the Princess

Requirements

  • Defeat Ornstein and Smough.
  1. After the cathedral boss fight, take either side lift to the upper floor and open the large doors leading into the Chamber of the Princess.
  2. Approach Gwynevere, speak to her and accept the Lordvessel. Killing her can also supply it, but speaking to her preserves the normal state of Anor Londo.
  3. You can now warp between eligible bonfires you have visited. Return to Firelink when you are ready to decide how to place the vessel.
  • If you want to meet Kaathe or join the Darkwraith covenant, do not place the Lordvessel yet.

Notes

  • Warping starts immediately: Receiving the Lordvessel enables bonfire warping. Placement is not required for that ability, and not every bonfire is an eligible destination. The Archives prison and Painted World also restrict escape by warp.
  • Placing the vessel: Place it at the Firelink Altar to remove the golden barriers blocking the later Archives, Tomb of the Giants and Demon Ruins routes. This does not replace the keys for ordinary locked doors.
  • Choosing a guide: Frampt can take you to the altar from Firelink. To keep Kaathe's route available, defeat Four Kings before placement and speak to him in the Abyss. You can also reach the altar by dropping into Frampt's pit, but placing it yourself still ends the opportunity to begin Kaathe's route.
  • Four offerings: Nito and Bed of Chaos each provide a Lord Soul; Four Kings and Seath each provide a Bequeathed Lord Soul Shard. Offer all four at the vessel to open the Kiln of the First Flame.
  • Ending choice: Choosing Frampt as your guide does not force you to link the fire at the ending. Your final action after Gwyn determines that choice.
  • New Game Plus: The Lordvessel and its progression are reset for the next journey. Obtain it again to restore warping and open the golden barriers.
