In-game description

Soul of the albino Seath the Scaleless.
A fragment of a Lord Soul discovered
at the dawn of the Age of Fire.

Seath allied with Lord Gwyn and turned upon
the dragons, and for this he was awarded
Dukedom, embraced by the royalty, and given
a fragment of a great soul. Although just a
piece, it will still satiate the Lordvessel.

Boss reward

Crystal Cave: Seath the Scaleless

  1. Place the Lordvessel and enter the Archives from Anor Londo. Survive the progression through Seath's first encounter by escaping the prison afterward.
  2. Work through the rotating library stairs to the lower storage room. Operate the bookcase mechanism and descend into the garden of Crystal Golems.
  3. Enter Crystal Cave and follow the solid crystal slopes and invisible bridges. Watch falling crystal dust to identify the invisible paths.
  4. Pass the clam enemies and enter Seath's final arena. Break the glowing Primordial Crystal at the back, then defeat Seath to receive his Bequeathed Lord Soul Shard.

Notes

  • Seath's shard: This is Seath's Lordvessel offering. The identically named Four Kings shard is a separate required item.
  • First encounter is different: You do not obtain the shard in the initial Archives room. The reward comes from the final boss fight in Crystal Cave.
  • Immortality crystal: Seath recovers while his Primordial Crystal remains intact. Break it before trying to finish the boss.
  • Tail weapon is separate: Cutting the central rear tail can award Moonlight Greatsword, but the tail cut is not required for the shard. Defeating Seath ends that journey's opportunity to obtain the tail weapon.
  • Offering: Offer the shard at the Lordvessel. It cannot be consumed for ordinary souls or used to forge a boss weapon.
