In-game description

Extra key to a cell in the
Duke's Archive Tower.

Perhaps the serpent men were careless,
for there are several keys scattered
about which fit Archive Tower cells.

Where to find

Treasure pickup

Duke's Archives: lower side cell

  1. Escape the starting prison cell with Archive Tower Cell Key. Descend the spiral stairs and find the third accessible cell below your starting cell.
  2. Enter it and drop through the broken floor into the cell below. Clear the Crystal Soldiers before searching the corpse for Archive Prison Extra Key.
  3. Unlock the lower cell door to return to the spiral stairs.

Notes

  • Alternate name: Also known as Archive Tower Extra Key. Both names refer to the key found by dropping between the side cells.
  • Extra cell doors: Opens additional small-cell doors, including the rear door of your prison bonfire cell. Use these routes for the side-cell treasures.
  • Not Logan's key: It does not unlock the large cell at the bottom of the prison, or the giant exit doors above the starting cell.
  • Later journeys: This key is removed when a new journey begins. Collect it again if you need to reopen its lock; unlocking the door in the previous journey does not keep it open.
