}In-game description
Opens the narrow passage leading below
at the far face of the great bridge in
the Undead Burg.
The lower Undead Burg is a treacherous place.
Do not turn your back on the wily thieves, or
the wild dogs who serve the Capra Demon.
Where to find
Treasure pickup
Undead Parish: steps near the boar gate
- Reach the Parish church through the boar courtyard and the passages beyond it. Return toward the large metal gate that separates the courtyard from the church approach.
- Search the corpse on the steps near the gate lever for the Basement Key. Open the gate from this side if it is still closed.
- Return to the Hellkite bridge. At the end nearest Solaire and the Taurus Demon route, unlock the small door leading down to Lower Undead Burg.
- Descend and open the shortcut back toward the first Burg bonfire before entering the lower streets.
Notes
- Lower Burg entrance: Opens the descent from the Hellkite bridge into Lower Undead Burg. Look at the Solaire end of the bridge, rather than the gate below the dragon.
- Master Key limitation: Master Key does not open this door. You need Basement Key for the ordinary bridge entrance.
- Other locked doors: Griggs's house still needs Residence Key. The entrance to the Depths needs the key awarded by Capra Demon.
- Later journeys: This key is removed when a new journey begins. Collect it again if you need to reopen its lock; unlocking the door in the previous journey does not keep it open.
