Weapon behavior

Its curved greatsword swings cover a broad arc, with strong thrusts offering a narrower option. The weapon is heavy and its recovery still matters against enemies that cannot be staggered.

Reinforcement and comparison

Has modest, equal Strength and Dexterity scaling and high starting physical attack. Hits build toxic, a separate status from ordinary poison. Faith does not scale it despite the covenant association.

Reinforce to +5 with Demon Titanite. It cannot use resins or weapon-enchantment spells and has no elemental conversion branches.

In-game description

Weapon type: Curved Greatsword
Attack type: Slash/Thrust

Sword wielded only by servants of
Gravelord Nito, the first of the dead.
Crafted from the bones of the fallen.

The miasma of death exudes from the sword,
a veritable toxin to any living being.

Where to find

Covenant reward

The Catacombs

Requirements

  • Keep Gravelord Nito alive.
  • Carry at least one Eye of Death.
  1. Progress through the Catacombs to the long coffin-lined passage with a Titanite Demon. If you need an Eye of Death, three are on the corpse behind the demon; collecting them does not require killing it.
  2. Find the projecting open coffin in that passage. Choose to nestle inside and remain there until the transport begins. Enemies can still hurt you while you wait.
  3. At Nito's sarcophagus, interact and join the Gravelord Servant covenant to receive the sword. Use the coffin to return. This is separate from entering his later boss fight.

Notes

  • Requirements and weight: Requires 24 Strength, 13 Dexterity and weighs 10.
  • Scaling and toxic: Has modest, equal Strength and Dexterity scaling and high starting physical attack. Hits build toxic, a separate status from ordinary poison. Faith does not scale it despite the covenant association.
  • Moveset: Its curved greatsword swings cover a broad arc, with strong thrusts offering a narrower option. The weapon is heavy and its recovery still matters against enemies that cannot be staggered.
  • Reinforcement: Reinforce to +5 with Demon Titanite. It cannot use resins or weapon-enchantment spells and has no elemental conversion branches.
  • Joining cutoff: Defeating Nito removes the option to join and collect this reward in that journey. Obtain it before his boss fight if you want it on that playthrough.
