Bare fists

Where to find

Available by default

Any area

  1. Open the equipment menu and select the active weapon slot for the hand you want to leave empty.
  2. Remove its weapon, then return to the game. Switch to that empty slot if another weapon is still active in the same hand.
  3. Use the empty right hand to punch, or the empty left hand to jab and parry. There is no pickup, merchant or quest requirement.

Notes

  • Ordinary attack power: Bare fists have 20 base physical attack power and deal strike damage. They have no Strength, Dexterity, Intelligence or Faith scaling. That attack value is not a promise of 20 HP damage after defenses.
  • Handling: Bare fists add no equipment weight. The empty left hand can parry but cannot block, and bare fists cannot be held in a two-handed grip.
  • Upgrades and coatings: Fists have no ordinary reinforcement or modification path. They cannot receive resins or weapon-enchantment spells.
  • Different fist states: Caestus, Claw, Dragon Bone Fist and Dark Hand are separate equipment. The Dragon Torso Stone transformation also changes bare-hand combat; its transformed attack power is not the ordinary unarmed value.
