Weapon behavior

Has distinctive sweeping and spinning strong attacks. The critical rating is 100, so the dagger category alone does not give it the high displayed critical rating of Bandit's Knife or Dark Silver Tracer.

Reinforcement and comparison

Requires 6 Strength and 20 Dexterity and weighs 1.0. Dexterity is its only physical damage scaling attribute. Its A Dexterity grade becomes S at +5; extra Strength beyond the requirement adds no attack rating.

Uses Dragon Scales up to +5, not Twinkling Titanite or Demon Titanite. It cannot use resins or weapon-enchantment spells and has no alternate elemental reinforcement paths.

In-game description

Weapon type: Dagger
Attack type: Slash

This sword, one of the rare dragon weapons,
came from the tail of Priscilla, the Dragon
Crossbreed in the painted world of Ariamis.
Possessing the power of lifehunt, it dances
about when wielded, in a fashion reminiscent
of the white-robed painting guardians.

Painted World of Ariamis

Requirements

  • Obtain the Peculiar Doll from your starting cell when returning to the Undead Asylum.
  • Use the large painting in the bottom of the Painting Guardian hall in Anor Londo to enter the Painted World.
  1. From the Painted World bonfire, go toward the closed double doors and take the stairs on their right. Work up through the first building, cross the bridge and continue through the next building. Watch for swollen enemies that leave toxic clouds when killed.
  2. Continue to the large circular tower and descend to its lower fog doorway. Go through to the courtyard with the Phalanx clustered around the statue. Open the large double doors back to the bonfire so this route stays available after a death.
  3. Face those newly opened bonfire doors from the courtyard. Take the stairs on their right to a ladder down into the large underground chamber. Lure the rolling skeletons toward the entrance one at a time, then cross to the mechanism near the shaft of daylight and turn it. This opens the doorway at the bottom of the central tower.
  4. Use the opened doorway at the bottom of the main tower. Follow the bridge toward Priscilla, watching for Hollows climbing over its sides and the large shield-carrying knight near the fog. You may run past the knight.
  5. Priscilla is initially peaceful. Walk behind her and aim at the small tail before attacking. The weapon requires severing the tail; simply defeating her gives a different reward.
  6. If the opening hit does not sever it, watch her footprints while she is invisible. Stagger her to make her visible, then work around behind her and keep attacks on the tail. The dagger is added automatically when the tail is cut.
  • Attacking starts the boss fight. Once she is hostile, you must defeat her to leave through the normal exit.
  • Killing her before severing the tail loses this pickup for the current playthrough. Broad attacks and bleed can kill her before the tail is cut.

Notes

  • Requirements and scaling: Requires 6 Strength and 20 Dexterity and weighs 1.0. Dexterity is its only physical damage scaling attribute. Its A Dexterity grade becomes S at +5; extra Strength beyond the requirement adds no attack rating.
  • Lifehunt bleed: Builds bleed slowly, but a successful bleed burst removes a larger share of a susceptible target's health than ordinary bleed. An immune target receives no bleed benefit, so its direct physical damage still matters.
  • Strong attacks and criticals: Has distinctive sweeping and spinning strong attacks. The critical rating is 100, so the dagger category alone does not give it the high displayed critical rating of Bandit's Knife or Dark Silver Tracer.
  • Upgrades and buffs: Uses Dragon Scales up to +5, not Twinkling Titanite or Demon Titanite. It cannot use resins or weapon-enchantment spells and has no alternate elemental reinforcement paths.
  • Soul and tail are separate: The Soul of Priscilla is used for Lifehunt Scythe. It cannot be exchanged for this dagger. The tail cut is the acquisition method you need to preserve before defeating her.
