Firelink Shrine

Requirements

  • Keep Petrus of Thorolund alive and friendly.
  1. From the Firelink bonfire, enter the covered stone ruins on the way toward the Undead Parish lift. Petrus is the armored cleric standing inside.
  2. Keep speaking to him until his service menu is available. Early in the game, accepting his Way of White offer opens these services. If you want to keep another covenant, return after Rhea and her escorts arrive following Capra Demon, when he can offer services without joining.
  3. Choose Learn gesture to learn Shrug. You do not need to pay for his information about the Undead mission.
  • Petrus temporarily leaves with Rhea on their expedition. If he is away, return after he comes back to Firelink.

Notes

  • Motion: Turns the palms upward and shakes the head, giving you a way to express uncertainty or disbelief.
  • Teaching and purchases: The gesture is a free service. His miracle prices and the separate information fee do not set a price for Shrug.
  • Quest consequence: Learn it before killing Petrus. Killing him before Rhea first arrives also makes her party hostile, affecting more than this one gesture.
