Covenant
Way of White
How to join
Speak to Petrus at Firelink Shrine and ask to join.
Location: Firelink Shrine
Find the cleric in the ruined shrine rooms above the bonfire. Speak repeatedly. Joining the Way of White is the early route to his miracle shop; his later shop access is not a permanent membership-only rule.

Leaving and betrayal
No offering-based rank rewards.
Killing him before Rhea and her companions first arrive makes them hostile. His later actions can end Rhea's Parish shop. Buy her required miracles promptly after rescuing her.
Leaving a covenant can reduce its recorded offerings and rank. A covenant item remaining in your inventory does not prove that its membership-dependent effect is still available. Absolution cannot revive a dead covenant leader.
