In-game description

Soul of Quelaag, once daughter of the
Witch of Izalith, but now a chaos demon.

Special beings have special souls, and
Quelaag's soul contains all aspects of Chaos.
Use it to acquire a huge amount of souls,
or to create a unique weapon.

Where to find

Gift or encounter reward

Quelaag's Domain

  1. Descend to the Blighttown swamp and cross to the great white mound on the far side. Enter the tunnel, leaving passive Egg Carriers alone if you do not want a fight.
  2. Cross the fog and defeat Chaos Witch Quelaag. Keep the soul awarded for the kill; ringing the bell afterward is a separate interaction.

Notes

  • Consume or keep: Using the item grants 8,000 souls and destroys it. This is separate from the souls credited immediately for defeating the boss.
  • Reward choices: Make Quelaag's Furysword from a normal +10 curved sword such as Scimitar, or Chaos Blade from a normal +10 katana such as Uchigatana.
  • Frampt value: Feeding it to Kingseeker Frampt gives 10,000 souls, which is more than consuming it. Feeding also destroys the item.
  • Forging: At Anor Londo's Giant Blacksmith, choose Modify Equipment with this soul and the required base equipment. A normal +10 base needs Andre's Large Ember modification from +5 to +6 first. Forging spends the soul, the base item and 5,000 Souls.
