In-game description

Talisman utilized by Allfather Lloyd's
cleric knights to hunt down the Undead.
Blocks Estus recovery within a limited area.

In the outside world, the Undead are accursed
creatures, and Lloyd's cleric knights are
widely praised for their Undead hunts. This
blessed talisman blocks Undead recovery,
allowing the knights to fight with impunity.

Requirements

  • Keep the male Undead Merchant alive and friendly.
  1. From the first Undead Burg bonfire, return toward the roof terrace with two spear Hollows. Break the crates beside the terrace to reveal stairs.
  2. Go downstairs, leave through the side doorway and find the seated merchant on the balcony. Speak to him without attacking.
  3. Buy Lloyd's Talisman from the male Undead Merchant's purchase menu.

Requirements

  • Access Artorias of the Abyss.
  • Keep Marvellous Chester alive and friendly.
  1. Free Dusk in Darkroot Basin and obtain the Broken Pendant from the first Crystal Golem in the Duke's Archives. Return to Dusk's cave, use the portal and defeat Sanctuary Guardian.
  2. Cross Royal Wood to the stone arena where Artorias waits. Before entering the boss fog, cross the nearby bridge and find Chester leaning against the wall. Speak to him and open his shop.
  3. Buy Lloyd's Talisman from Marvellous Chester's purchase menu.
  • Killing the real Chester removes this shop. His separate invading phantom is a different encounter.

Notes

  • Estus suppression: A thrown talisman that temporarily prevents affected targets from healing with Estus. It does not disable every healing item or spell.
  • Mimics: Throw one at a Mimic to make it open its mouth without needing to kill it. Collect the revealed treasure while it is subdued; it can resume attacking after the effect wears off.
  • Planning a throw: The impact must reach the target. This item gives no passive protection while it merely sits in a quick-item slot.
