over time due to Logan's use. Very powerful
when used by one of superior intelligence.

The Duke's Archives
Requirements
- Progress Logan's quest to his Archives book-room shop.
- Free Logan from the hanging cage behind the breakable wall in Sen's Fortress. Aim the boulder machine down the corridor with the resting serpent to break the wall, then unlock Logan's cage with the Cage Key or Master Key.
- Later, find him in the large cell at the bottom of the Duke's Archives prison tower. Collect the Archive Tower Giant Cell Key from the chest in the bookshelf shortcut area near the route out to Crystal Cave. Return to the prison, unlock his cell and speak to him.
- Visit his new shop in the small book room near the shortcut ladder and lever. Buy every sorcery he offers there, defeat Seath in Crystal Cave and exhaust Logan's dialogue. Reload the area to advance his final appearance.
- Return to Seath's original encounter room at the top of the Archives, defeat the hostile Logan there and collect his drops. Return to his former book-room shop and open the newly appeared chest for Logan's Catalyst and the rest of his clothing. Reload if the chest has not yet appeared.
- Killing Logan early can cut off the shop and later rewards. Finish the purchases and dialogue before his final hostile encounter.
Notes
- Requirements and weight: Requires 6 Strength, 24 Intelligence and weighs 2.
- Intelligence scaling: Uses an Intelligence progression suited to higher Intelligence investment. Its high scaling letter is not a promise that it outperforms every catalyst immediately at the 24 Intelligence requirement.
- Full spell uses: Does not halve spell uses. It offers a different tradeoff from the Tin Crystallization Catalyst obtained during the same quest.
- Casting: Casts sorceries, not miracles or pyromancies. Attune the spell at a bonfire and meet that spell's own Intelligence requirement as well as the catalyst's requirements. The listed melee attack is separate from spell power.
- Reinforcement: Cannot be reinforced or converted to another upgrade path. It also cannot receive pine resins or weapon-enchantment spells.
