to acquire humanity.
(Hollows cannot conduct summons)

In Lordran, the flow of time is distorted,
and the White Sign Soapstone allows
Undead to assist one another.

Undead Burg: Solaire's balcony

Requirements

  • Keep Solaire alive and friendly.
  1. Defeat Taurus Demon and leave its tower. Before entering the long bridge guarded by the Hellkite Dragon, take the stairs down toward the balcony overlooking the sunlight.
  2. Speak to Solaire, the knight looking out from the balcony. Answer yes to both of his questions and receive White Sign Soapstone.
  3. If you declined his offer, speak to him again and accept it. You do not need to kill him to obtain the soapstone.

  1. If Solaire has died before giving you the soapstone, collect it with his dropped equipment.
  • Killing Solaire ends his quest and removes his later summon opportunities for this journey. Accept his gift instead if he is still friendly.

Notes

  • Offering help: Use it in an eligible online area to place a cooperative summon sign. You can offer help while hollow, and your own area boss does not need to be alive.
  • Receiving help: A host needs human form and a living area boss to summon ordinary cooperative phantoms. Putting down your own sign hides other players' summon signs until you cancel it.
  • Covenant color: Warriors of Sunlight use this same item to leave golden signs. Other characters leave ordinary white signs; you do not need a separate golden soapstone.
  • Finding a friend: Remastered normally checks both character level and weapon-upgrade matchmaking. A shared password helps arrange cooperative summons with a specific friend, with scaling applied when appropriate.
  • Reuse: The soapstone is reusable. Helping another player does not kill the boss in your own world or spend the item.
