Where to find

Merchant purchase

Undead Parish bell tower

Cost: 1000 Souls · Stock: 1

Requirements

  • Keep Oswald alive and friendly.
  1. Defeat the Bell Gargoyles on the church roof and ring the Bell of Awakening.
  2. Climb back down into the tower and speak to Oswald, the black-clothed pardoner waiting below the bell. Open his purchase menu.
  3. Buy Book of the Guilty from Oswald of Carim.

NPC death reward

Undead Parish: Oswald

  1. If Oswald dies before you buy the book, collect Book of the Guilty from his dropped items.
  • Killing Oswald removes his shop and absolution service for the rest of the journey. Buying the book keeps those services available.

Notes

  • Online list: Displays the online list of indicted characters and their accumulated PvP sin. The book can be opened repeatedly without spending it.
  • No invasion by itself: Reading the book does not invade a listed player. Blades of the Darkmoon use Blue Eye Orb for their invasion system.
  • Different kinds of sin: An online indictment record is different from angering a friendly NPC. Do not treat this leaderboard as a complete record of every hostile NPC or every covenant action.
  • No membership needed to read: Buying and reading the book does not require joining Blade of the Darkmoon. Its leaderboard needs an online connection.
