Requirements

  • Reach the Undead Parish church.
  • Keep Andre alive and friendly.
  1. Find the side of the parish church facing the forest. Clear the two sword soldiers and crossbow soldier guarding the long stone bridge, then cross to the smaller ruined building.
  2. Go downstairs to the bonfire and rest. Take the next stairs down toward the hammering sound to find Andre at his anvil. You do not need to fight the Titanite Demon in the room beyond him.
  3. Speak to Andre, open Purchase Item and buy Armor Smithbox.
  • Keep attacks away from Andre. Killing him removes both his shop and his specialized forging services for this playthrough.

Notes

  • What it unlocks: Adds armor reinforcement to the bonfire menu. Upgrades still consume Souls and the materials required by that piece. The box remains available after use.
  • Upgrade limits belong to each piece: Ordinary reinforceable armor can reach +10, while pieces using Twinkling Titanite stop at +5. Some armor cannot be reinforced at all. Buying the box does not add an upgrade path to those pieces.
  • Poise and weight: Armor reinforcement improves its supported defenses and resistances. It does not make a heavy piece lighter or increase its poise, so upgrades do not solve an equipment-load problem.
  • Separate equipment menus: This box is for armor. Weapon Smithbox handles weapons and shields, while Repairbox restores repairable equipment durability. You do not need to keep returning to Andre once you own the tool and have materials.
