Requirements

  • Reach the Undead Parish church.
  • Keep Andre alive and friendly.
  1. Find the side of the parish church facing the forest. Clear the two sword soldiers and crossbow soldier guarding the long stone bridge, then cross to the smaller ruined building.
  2. Go downstairs to the bonfire and rest. Take the next stairs down toward the hammering sound to find Andre at his anvil. You do not need to fight the Titanite Demon in the room beyond him.
  3. Speak to Andre, open Purchase Item and buy Weapon Smithbox.
  • Keep attacks away from Andre. Killing him removes both his shop and his specialized forging services for this playthrough.

Notes

  • What it unlocks: Adds weapon and shield reinforcement to the bonfire menu. You still pay the required Souls and materials for each upgrade. The smithbox is reusable and is not consumed with each reinforcement.
  • Ascension still needs a blacksmith: It cannot change upgrade paths or cross an ascension boundary. For example, Andre must turn a normal +5 weapon into +6 after receiving the Large Ember. Once he has done that step, the box can reinforce it farther within that tier.
  • Not a repair tool: Weapon reinforcement and equipment repair are different bonfire options. Buy Repairbox for repairs. Owning this box does not make Crystal equipment repairable.
  • Casting tools: This box does not upgrade a Pyromancy Flame. Take that to a pyromancy teacher who offers flame reinforcement. Catalysts and talismans do not follow the ordinary weapon reinforcement system.
