In-game description

This special ring crafted in an Eastern land
is made of gold, but with a wood grain crest
on its surface.

Agents of subterfuge in this faraway land
are particularly fond of the dark gold wood
grain, which greatly alters its wearer's
rolling action.

Where to find

Boss, quest or covenant reward

Darkroot Garden / Blighttown

  1. From Andre beneath the Undead Parish bonfire, pass the Titanite Demon and follow Darkroot Garden to the magically sealed stone door. Open it with the Crest of Artorias bought from Andre, or reach the far side by the ladder from the Hydra lake in Darkroot Basin.
  2. Cross the forest guarded by human hunters and enter the small stone ruins. Speak to Alvina, the large cat in the window, and agree to join the Forest Hunter covenant.
  3. Find Shiva outside the ruins and look closely behind him for the nearly transparent ninja bodyguard. The bodyguard carries the ring.
  4. Kill the bodyguard and collect his drop. If you already spoke to Shiva and they have moved, find both of them at the Blighttown waterwheel support instead.
  • This betrays the Forest Hunters and makes Shiva hostile. Make any purchases you want from him first.

Notes

  • Dodge change: Replaces a qualifying fast roll with a cartwheel dodge, giving a longer invulnerable window and faster recovery. Keep equipment weight at or below 25% of maximum load in Remastered.
  • Load matters: Does nothing for a medium or heavy roll. The old version that allowed cartwheels at 50% load does not describe current Remastered behavior.
  • Other movement: Does not raise equipment capacity, remove swamp slowdown or protect you from a fall into a death pit.
