Multiplayer and Covenant Items

Buy it from the male Undead Merchant near the first Burg bonfire. The old Painted World balcony pickup is Twin Humanities in Remastered, not another Dried Finger.

Merchant purchase

Undead Burg

Cost: 2000 Souls · Stock: 1

Requirements

  • Keep the male Undead Merchant alive and friendly.
  1. From Firelink, follow the uphill path past the Hollows and enter the aqueduct passage. Leave by its side exit and climb into Undead Burg. Reach the first bonfire in the room beside the small crossbow tower.
  2. From the first Undead Burg bonfire, return toward the roof terrace with two spear Hollows. Break the crates beside the terrace to reveal stairs.
  3. Go downstairs, leave through the side doorway and find the seated merchant on the balcony. Speak to him without attacking.
  4. Buy Dried Finger from the male Undead Merchant.

NPC death reward

Undead Burg: male Undead Merchant

  1. If the male merchant dies before you buy Dried Finger, collect it from his dropped items.
  • Buying it preserves his shop for ammunition, tools and other supplies. Killing him removes that shop for the journey.

Notes

  • Remastered location: Buy it from the male Undead Merchant near the first Burg bonfire. The old Painted World balcony pickup is Twin Humanities in Remastered, not another Dried Finger.
  • More online slots: Using it allows up to three friendly phantoms and two hostile invaders alongside the host. It increases the danger as well as the number of helpers.
  • Invasion cooldown: Clears the protection period between ordinary invasions, allowing new invasions sooner. It does not force a compatible opponent to connect immediately.
  • Reusable: It is not consumed. Repeatedly using it does not keep adding phantom slots beyond the multiplayer limit.
  • Host conditions still matter: You still need the normal conditions for summoning and being invaded. Dried Finger does not turn a hollow host into a human or replace a cooperative summon sign.
