In-game description

This special ring crafted in an Eastern land
is made of gold, but with a wood grain crest
on its surface.

The ring slows the loss of weapon durability
and is particularly useful to bearers of
delicate swords crafted in the East.

Merchant purchase

Blighttown swamp

Cost: 10000 Souls · Stock: 1

Requirements

  • Join the Forest Hunter covenant and keep Shiva and his bodyguard friendly.
  1. From Andre beneath the Undead Parish bonfire, go through the Titanite Demon room into Darkroot Garden. Reach the forest beyond the Crest of Artorias door, or climb the long ladder from the Hydra lake in Darkroot Basin.
  2. Find Alvina, the large cat sitting in the window of the stone ruins. Agree to join her covenant, then speak to Shiva outside the ruins until his dialogue repeats.
  3. Travel to the bottom of Blighttown. From the swamp bonfire, follow the wall toward the wooden waterwheel lift. Find Shiva against the stone support near the lift and open his shop.
  4. Speak to Shiva of the East and buy East Wood Grain Ring from the purchase menu.

Notes

  • Durability: Halves ordinary weapon durability loss. It can help with low-durability weapons, including katanas and Crystal weapons.
  • Special attacks: Does not halve fixed durability costs of special weapon attacks. Grant's special attack still spends its full durability cost.
  • Repair limits: Slower wear does not make Crystal weapons normally repairable, restore lost durability or prevent a weapon from breaking.
