}In-game description
One of the special rings granted to the four
knights of Gwyn. The Leo Ring belonged to
Ornstein the Dragonslayer.
This ring strengthens counters with pierce
weapons. His lugged spear is said
to have sliced a boulder in two.
Where to find
Boss, quest or covenant reward
Anor Londo, Ornstein and Smough
- Reach the large cathedral hall beyond the Silver Knight archers and enter the Ornstein and Smough boss arena.
- Defeat Smough first. Ornstein must survive the first phase and become the enlarged second-phase boss.
- Defeat enlarged Ornstein, then collect the ring at his death position. Killing Ornstein first does not give this ring in Remastered.
Notes
- Thrust counters: Increases the physical thrust-counter component by 40% when your thrust lands during the enemy's vulnerable attack animation. The relevant property belongs to the attack, so a thrusting move on a sword can qualify as well as a spear.
- Damage channels: Does not give the same bonus to an elemental portion of split damage. A thrusting animation alone is not enough unless the hit has the correct physical attack type and counter timing.
- Criticals and normal hits: Does not boost backstabs and ripostes as critical attacks, and does not add 40% to every ordinary thrust against an idle enemy.
