In-game description

Warm pebble emitting a beautiful phasing aura
of seven colors, with a very rare eighth.

The rainbow stone does nothing special, but
can serve as a path marker, and can be
dropped off a cliff to judge height by the
sound of its descent.
If a loud noise is heard upon its landing,
then a fall off the ledge is surely lethal.

Requirements

  • Keep the female Undead Merchant alive and friendly.
  1. Use the Basement Key from Undead Parish to open the Lower Burg descent near the Hellkite bridge. Continue past the dogs and assassin ambushes toward the Capra Demon fog.
  2. Take the stairs beside that fog down toward the Depths entrance. Follow the adjoining tower stairs up to the aqueduct passage.
  3. Speak through the bars to the merchant, then open the nearby shortcut door back toward Firelink. Her stall can be revisited through that shortcut.
  4. Buy Prism Stone from the female Undead Merchant's purchase menu.

Requirements

  • Keep Patches alive and friendly through his Tomb encounter.
  1. Survive Patches' trap in the Tomb of the Giants. Answer no to his question about being a cleric, return from the pit and settle the encounter without making him hostile.
  2. Defeat Nito, then find Patches on the graveyard side of Firelink Shrine and open his shop.
  3. Buy Prism Stone from Patches's purchase menu.

Oolacile tower above the Artorias arena

Cost: 10 Souls · Stock: ∞

Requirements

  • Obtain the Crest Key and keep Gough alive.
  • Keep Hawkeye Gough alive and friendly.
  1. Defeat Artorias and explore Oolacile Township to find the Mimic holding the Crest Key.
  2. Return to the arena approach and take the stairs around its outer wall to the locked tower door. Open it with the Crest Key, climb the ladder and speak to Gough.
  3. Buy Prism Stone from Hawkeye Gough's purchase menu.

Notes

  • Markers: Places a colored light on the ground to help mark a route, including the walkable surfaces of Crystal Cave's invisible paths. Each use consumes a stone.
  • Drop warning: A loud breaking sound can warn that the tested drop is too far. It does not prove the surface below is safe to stand on or protect you from a death pit.
  • Crow trade: Leave one in the Asylum trading nest and reload to exchange it for Demon Titanite once per journey. Color does not create a different trade.
