In-game description

This mystical ring was created in a
sacrificial rite of Velka, the Goddess
of Sin.

Its wearer will lose nothing upon death,
but the ring itself breaks.

Where to find

Merchant purchase

Undead Parish bell tower

Cost: 5000 Souls · Stock: 10

Requirements

  • Keep Oswald alive and friendly.
  1. Defeat the Bell Gargoyles on the church roof and ring the Bell of Awakening.
  2. Climb back down into the tower and speak to Oswald, the black-clothed pardoner waiting below the bell. Open his purchase menu.
  3. Speak to Oswald of Carim and buy Ring of Sacrifice from the purchase menu.

Treasure pickup

Firelink Shrine aqueduct approach

  1. From Firelink, take the cliff path up toward the aqueduct and Undead Burg. Clear the Hollows around the steps, including the firebomb thrower above.
  2. Look below the side of the steps for the narrow ledge running underneath the aqueduct bridge. Drop onto it and follow it along the wall to the corpse with the ring.

Treasure pickup

Painted World of Ariamis

  1. Obtain the Peculiar Doll by returning to your starting cell in the Undead Asylum. Bring it to the great painting in Anor Londo's Painting Guardian hall and examine the painting.
  2. Work through the buildings to the central courtyard and open the shortcut back to the bonfire. Explore the raised, narrow ruined wall reached by the courtyard side stairs.
  3. Collect the ring from the corpse at the far end. Return by the same narrow route rather than dropping blindly over the wall.

Crow trade

Northern Undead Asylum

Requirements

  • Return to the Asylum and have Humanity.
  1. Unlock the Undead Parish church lift to Firelink. Ride it upward from Firelink and step onto the ruined ledge above the shrine. Follow the route up the buttress and stairs to the large crow's nest, then curl up and wait for the crow to carry you back to the Asylum.
  2. At the Asylum's cliffside approach, find the small nest where an unseen crow speaks. This is the trading nest, separate from the large crow's transport nest.
  3. Offer a single Humanity inventory item. The carried Humanity number beside your health bar is not the trade item.
  4. Use Leave to put one Humanity in the small nest. Quit to the title screen and reload, then pick up Ring of Sacrifice from the nest.
  • Each accepted offering can be exchanged once per playthrough. Leave one item at a time; Discard destroys it.

Notes

  • Protection on death: Preserves carried souls, Humanity and human form through one ordinary death while equipped, then breaks. Keeping it unequipped in your bag provides no protection.
  • Old bloodstain: A death covered by the ring leaves an existing bloodstain intact instead of replacing it. This can protect a recovery attempt after an earlier death.
  • Curse exception: An ordinary Ring of Sacrifice does not protect a curse-caused death. Rare Ring of Sacrifice is the version that also prevents that death's curse penalty.
  • Finite copies: Oswald stocks ten per journey. They do not restock just because you rest at a bonfire. Once broken, a ring cannot be repaired.
