In-game description

This mystical ring was created in a
sacrificial rite of Velka, the Goddess
of Sin. The magenta-shaded ring is
especially rare.

Its wearer will lose nothing upon death,
and will be freed from any curse whatsoever,
but the ring itself breaks.

Where to find

Treasure pickup

Sen's Fortress

  1. Reach the open roof above the last swinging-blade walkway. Follow the side stairways and narrow paths toward the tower guarded by the rapier-wielding Undead Prince Ricard.
  2. Defeat Ricard and enter the tower behind him. Open the chests inside to collect the ring and the separate Divine Blessing.

Treasure pickup

New Londo Ruins

  1. Cross from Firelink into the flooded upper ruins and reach the large ghost house where Ingward stands on the roof.
  2. Explore the exterior stairs and upper roof ledges around that house. Drop onto the lower roof beneath Ingward and collect the ring from the corpse near the edge.
  • Use Transient Curse or another way to fight ghosts. Check the landing before dropping.

Treasure pickup

Lost Izalith

  1. Cross the lava section with Orange Charred Ring and follow the roots into the stone ruins toward the Bed of Chaos.
  2. In the upper ruins near the route down to the Chaos Eater pit, look over the edge for a corpse on a root below the walkway.
  3. Drop carefully onto the root and collect the ring. The lower path loops back around if you miss the landing.

Crow trade

Northern Undead Asylum

Requirements

  • Return to the Asylum and have Twin Humanities.
  1. Unlock the Undead Parish church lift to Firelink. Ride it upward from Firelink and step onto the ruined ledge above the shrine. Follow the route up the buttress and stairs to the large crow's nest, then curl up and wait for the crow to carry you back to the Asylum.
  2. At the Asylum's cliffside approach, find the small nest where an unseen crow speaks. This is the trading nest, separate from the large crow's transport nest.
  3. Use the Twin Humanities inventory item as the offering, not two separate Humanity items and not Humanity from the counter.
  4. Use Leave to put one Twin Humanities in the small nest. Quit to the title screen and reload, then pick up Rare Ring of Sacrifice from the nest.
  • Each accepted offering can be exchanged once per playthrough. Leave one item at a time; Discard destroys it.

Notes

  • One death of protection: While equipped, preserves carried souls, Humanity and human form through a death, then breaks. It also prevents the curse penalty when curse buildup causes that death.
  • Existing curse: Does not cure a curse you already had before dying. Use a Purging Stone or Ingward's service to remove an existing curse.
  • Bloodstain recovery: A protected death does not replace a previous bloodstain, which makes a spare useful while retrieving lost souls. Once the ring breaks, equip another before relying on that protection again.
