}In-game description
An orange ring enchanted by a witch.
Reduces lava damage.
Since his sores were inflamed by lava
from birth, his witch sisters gave him
this special ring. But fool that he is,
he readily dropped it, and from that spot,
a terrible centipede demon was born.
Where to find
Boss, quest or covenant reward
Demon Ruins, Centipede Demon arena
- Place the Lordvessel to remove the golden barriers. Continue down Demon Ruins past Demon Firesage to the bonfire and root path leading to the Centipede Demon fog.
- Enter the arena and use the solid ground along the lava to fight. Defeat Centipede Demon to receive the ring.
- Alternatively, sever a detachable part and kill the smaller centipede it creates to receive the ring during the fight. Open the equipment menu somewhere safe before equipping it.
Notes
- Lava protection: Greatly reduces lava damage, by about 80%, making the usual route across Lost Izalith's lava practical. You still take damage and should watch your health and equipment durability.
- Extra fire damage: Adds fire damage to kicks and contact from landing on an enemy. It does not coat your equipped weapon or add that damage to every weapon swing.
- One boss reward: Getting the ring from a detached centipede does not provide an additional copy when the main boss dies.
- Progression: Cannot be given to another player and does not carry into NG+. A lost copy in the current journey can be recovered from the chest behind Frampt at Firelink.
- Alternative route: Chaos Servant rank +2 opens the Demon Ruins shortcut to Lost Izalith. That route can bypass the main lava crossing, so the ring is not required for every possible route to the Bed of Chaos.
