In-game description

Soul of Sif the Great Grey Wolf, who
guards the grave of Artorias the Abysswalker.

Special beings have special souls.
Use the soul of Sif, who inherited the
divine knightsword, to acquire a huge
amount of souls, or to create a
unique weapon.

Where to find

Gift or encounter reward

Darkroot Garden

  1. Reach the forest beyond the Crest of Artorias door near the hidden bonfire, or climb the long ladder from Darkroot Basin's Hydra lake.
  2. Continue through the woods beyond Alvina's ruins and cross the bridge toward the enormous stone gate. Enter the clearing and approach the greatsword at Artorias's grave.
  3. Defeat Great Grey Wolf Sif. The soul is awarded along with Covenant of Artorias; the ring has its own progression use.

Notes

  • Consume or keep: Using the item grants 16,000 souls and destroys it. This is separate from the souls credited immediately for defeating the boss.
  • Reward choices: One soul can make one of three items: Greatsword of Artorias from a normal +10 Broken Straight Sword or Straight Sword Hilt; the cursed Greatsword of Artorias from a compatible normal +10 blade such as Dagger; or Greatshield of Artorias from a compatible normal +10 shield. The two swords are distinct.
  • Frampt value: Feeding it to Kingseeker Frampt gives 4,000 souls, which is less than consuming it. Feeding also destroys the item.
  • Forging: At Anor Londo's Giant Blacksmith, choose Modify Equipment with this soul and the required base equipment. A normal +10 base needs Andre's Large Ember modification from +5 to +6 first. Forging spends the soul, the base item and 5,000 Souls.
  • Three copies: Creating all three Sif-soul rewards needs three copies. One normal boss kill per journey provides one copy, so ordinary solo collection takes multiple journeys.
