Where to find

Merchant purchase

The Depths / Firelink Shrine

Cost: 1000 Souls · Stock: 3

Requirements

  • Keep Domhnall of Zena alive and friendly.
  1. Enter the Depths with the key from Capra Demon. Work through the sewers to the large chamber leading toward Gaping Dragon and find the seated merchant beside the locked Blighttown gate.
  2. After both Bells of Awakening have been rung, look for him beneath the aqueduct near Firelink. Reach his ledge from the cliffside aqueduct approach. His location changes without creating a fresh copy of his finite stock.
  3. Buy Gold Pine Resin from Domhnall of Zena's purchase menu.

Merchant purchase

Oolacile Sanctuary

Cost: 1000 Souls · Stock: 6

Requirements

  • Access the Artorias of the Abyss areas and keep Elizabeth alive.
  1. Free Dusk in Darkroot Basin, then collect the Broken Pendant from the first Crystal Golem in the Duke's Archives. Return to Dusk's cave and interact with the dark portal.
  2. Defeat the Sanctuary Guardian and continue to the Oolacile Sanctuary bonfire. Speak to the large mushroom beside the stone wall and open Elizabeth's shop.
  3. Buy Gold Pine Resin from Elizabeth's purchase menu.
  • Keep Dusk alive as well; her death also removes Elizabeth.

Treasure pickup

Undead Burg

Requirements

  • Have the Residence Key or Master Key.
  1. Buy the Residence Key from the male Undead Merchant, or use the Master Key. From the bonfire, continue across the firebomb bridge toward the stairs leading to Taurus Demon.
  2. Open the locked residence along this upper Burg route and go out to the chest behind it. Open the chest for three Gold Pine Resins.

Repeatable enemy drop

Darkroot Garden mushroom pool

  1. Reach the forest beyond the Crest of Artorias door, or climb from the Hydra lake. Continue past Alvina's ruins into the wooded area with mushroom children.
  2. Find the shallow pool guarded by the large mushroom parents. Defeat a parent and collect its resin drops, then return to a bonfire to repeat. Their punches are much more dangerous than the smaller mushrooms' attacks.

Notes

  • Lightning coating: Adds 150 lightning attack power to a compatible right-hand weapon for 60 seconds. This fixed bonus does not require Faith or Intelligence.
  • Weapon compatibility: Use on a compatible right-hand weapon. Normal, Raw and Crystal reinforcement paths generally allow resins; elemental and magical paths generally do not. Unique weapons have individual exceptions. A resin does not stack with another coating or a weapon-enchantment spell on the same weapon.
  • Timing: The coating wears off with time. Apply it before entering a fight when you can finish the application safely.
