Undead Burg to the Depths.
Those banished from the Undead Burg eke out
their existence in the Depths, a damp lair
with no trace of sunlight. Nearly half of
the Depths form a perilous flooded labyrinth.

Lower Undead Burg: Capra Demon
- Use Basement Key at the Solaire end of the Hellkite bridge and descend into Lower Undead Burg. Fight past the dogs and the thieves hidden in the houses.
- Near the far end of the street, take the passage toward the aqueduct to open the return route to Firelink. This gives you a shorter approach before the boss.
- Defeat Capra Demon in the small fog-gated courtyard to receive the Key to the Depths.
- Outside the arena, take the stairs descending along its side. Unlock the door at the lower end to enter the Depths.
Notes
- Depths entrance: Unlocks the door below Capra Demon's arena. It does not unlock the Depths bonfire room or the large Blighttown gate.
- Master Key limitation: Master Key cannot open the Depths entrance. Its Valley of Drakes shortcut bypasses this area rather than unlocking it.
- Reason to visit: The Depths contains the Large Ember and the imprisoned pyromancy teacher Laurentius. Skipping straight to Blighttown leaves both behind until you return.
- Later journeys: This key is removed when a new journey begins. Collect it again if you need to reopen its lock; unlocking the door in the previous journey does not keep it open.
