Character creation

  1. Choose Old Witch's Ring as the starting gift when creating a new character. It is placed in your inventory at the start.

Crow trade

Northern Undead Asylum

Requirements

  • Return to the Asylum and have Sunlight Maggot.
  1. Unlock the Undead Parish church lift to Firelink. Ride it upward from Firelink and step onto the ruined ledge above the shrine. Follow the route up the buttress and stairs to the large crow's nest, then curl up and wait for the crow to carry you back to the Asylum.
  2. At the Asylum's cliffside approach, find the small nest where an unseen crow speaks. This is the trading nest, separate from the large crow's transport nest.
  3. Obtain the glowing Sunlight Maggot headpiece from the red-eyed Chaos Bug in the tunnel between Demon Ruins and Lost Izalith. Keep another light source if you still need to explore dark areas.
  4. Use Leave to put one Sunlight Maggot in the small nest. Quit to the title screen and reload, then pick up Old Witch's Ring from the nest.
  • Each accepted offering can be exchanged once per playthrough. Leave one item at a time; Discard destroys it.

Notes

  • The Fair Lady: Equip the ring when speaking to Quelaag's Sister at the hidden Daughter of Chaos bonfire below the second bell. It lets you understand her words.
  • Covenant access: You can rest at her bonfire, join Chaos Servant and offer Humanity without understanding her dialogue. This ring adds the dialogue rather than serving as the covenant key.
  • Trade choice: Exchanging the Sunlight Maggot removes that copy of the headpiece. The ring itself provides neither illumination nor a combat bonus.
