Requirements: You have a Pyromancy Flame at +10 or higher and have not killed the Bed of Chaos before meeting her.
What to do: Look beside the large stone pillar in the swamp near the approach to Quelaag. Speak to her and accept her teaching.
Result: Her advanced pyromancy shop becomes available.
Consequences and cutoffs: This is the personal-flame route. Multiplayer can also trigger her appearance.
Blighttown
Ascend
Requirements: You have a normal Pyromancy Flame +15.
What to do: Ask Quelana to modify the flame, then reinforce its ascended form.
Result: She provides ascension and the ascended flame upgrades.
Consequences and cutoffs: Ascension starts a separate upgrade progression.
Blighttown
Reward
Requirements: You met Quelana before defeating the Bed of Chaos and she is still alive.
What to do: After defeating the Bed of Chaos, return and speak to her.
Result: Receive Fire Tempest.
Consequences and cutoffs: Do not kill her if you still need her shop or flame upgrades.
Blighttown
Late Arrival
Requirements: You have not yet made Quelana appear.
What to do: Meet her with a sufficiently reinforced flame before defeating the Bed of Chaos.
Result: This preserves her advanced teaching and post-boss Fire Tempest gift route.
Consequences and cutoffs: Killing the Bed of Chaos before establishing her appearance can lose this teacher for the journey. Multiplayer appearance triggers remain a separate exception.
