and can be worn by humans, but not
without great difficulty.

Requirements

  • Keep Domhnall of Zena alive and friendly.
  • Defeat Ornstein first, then defeat the empowered Smough in the second phase.
  1. His first shop is in the Depths, beside the large door leading to Blighttown and near the approach to the Gaping Dragon arena.
  2. After both Bells of Awakening have been rung, return to Firelink Shrine. Walk up the aqueduct route toward Undead Burg and look beneath it for his seated figure. Carefully jump from the approach onto his ledge.
  3. Open the purchase menu and buy Smough's Leggings.

Notes

  • Weight and poise: Equips on the legs, weighs 10.4 and provides 21 poise. Poise helps resist stagger; it does not reduce health damage.
  • Physical protection: Provides 61 normal physical defense at base reinforcement. Its strongest physical protection at this level is against slash damage. Different attack types use different physical defenses.
  • Protection: At base reinforcement, its elemental defense is 31 magic, 40 fire, 33 lightning. Fire is its strongest elemental defense at this level. Defense values are not percentages of incoming damage blocked.
  • Status resistance: Adds 33 bleed, 16 poison and 5 curse resistance at base reinforcement. These help resist buildup; they do not cure an existing status.
  • Reinforcement: Cannot be reinforced. Its listed protection is not a starting point for a later +5 or +10 version.
  • Stamina recovery: Wearing this piece slows stamina recovery by 1 point per second. This penalty is separate from the movement changes caused by total equipment load.
  • Boss order: Defeating empowered Smough unlocks this outfit. Finishing with empowered Ornstein unlocks Ornstein's armor instead for that journey.
  • Appearance and movement: The large body shape does not make the wearer use Smough's attacks. Movement still follows your total equipment load.
