}In-game description
Armor of Kirk, Knight of Thorns and notorious
member of the Darkwraiths. A dense patch of
thorns grows from its surface.
It is a fitting item for the murderous Kirk,
for by simply wearing it and rolling, one can
damage enemies.
Where to find
Treasure pickup
Quelaag's Domain
Requirements
- Defeat Kirk at all three invasion locations in the same journey.
- Defeat Kirk's invasion in the Depths before killing the Gaping Dragon. He appears near the lower sewer passages and basilisks.
- After placing the Lordvessel, defeat his Demon Ruins invasion on the cliff stairway leading toward Demon Firesage, while that boss is alive.
- Defeat his Lost Izalith invasion outside the Bed of Chaos approach before killing that boss. You must be human for each invasion.
- Return to the hidden bonfire behind the illusory wall beneath Quelaag's bell. Enter the dead-end passage behind the Fair Lady and collect Kirk's outfit.
- Missing an invasion before its area boss dies prevents the full armor reward for that journey.
Notes
- Weight and poise: Equips on the chest, weighs 10.5 and provides 16 poise. Poise helps resist stagger; it does not reduce health damage.
- Physical protection: Provides 45 normal physical defense at base reinforcement. Its strongest physical protection at this level is against slash damage. Different attack types use different physical defenses.
- Protection: At base reinforcement, its elemental defense is 28 magic, 33 fire, 20 lightning. Fire is its strongest elemental defense at this level. Defense values are not percentages of incoming damage blocked.
- Status resistance: Adds 26 bleed, 18 poison and 0 curse resistance at base reinforcement. These help resist buildup; they do not cure an existing status.
- Reinforcement: Reinforce to +5 with Twinkling Titanite. Reinforcement improves defenses and resistances without changing weight, poise or maximum durability. Armor does not use weapon embers or elemental conversion paths.
- Rolling contact: The thorns let rolling and certain body-contact actions inflict small amounts of physical damage. They do not add a flat attack bonus to every weapon swing.
- Piece-specific effects: Different pieces contribute to different contact actions. The gauntlets also affect unarmed fist attacks; the outfit does not make arbitrary attacks unblockable.
