each and every completed carving, which
helps him achieve personal enlightenment.
When a head is disturbed, it speaks,
reflecting the emotion conferred to it.

Requirements

  • Obtain the Crest Key and keep Gough alive and friendly.
  1. Enter the DLC through Dusk's cave after freeing her and obtaining the Broken Pendant. Defeat Sanctuary Guardian, cross Royal Wood and defeat Artorias.
  2. Descend through Oolacile Township. In the large building with the later light-revealed side room, drop into the room beneath the wooden floor and defeat the Mimic for the Crest Key.
  3. Return to the Artorias arena approach. Take the stairs around its outside wall, unlock the tower door with the Crest Key and climb the ladder to Gough. Speak to him without attacking.
  4. Buy Hello Carving from Hawkeye Gough.

Notes

  • Spoken message: Use the carving to play its "Hello" voice line. This is a spoken emote for communication rather than a written ground message.
  • Reusable: One purchase is enough for repeated use. The carving is not consumed, even though Gough has only one in stock.
  • Tower access: Gough's door needs the Crest Key from the later Oolacile Township Mimic. Keep Gough alive and friendly to preserve his shop.
  • DLC collection: One of five different voiced carvings in Artorias of the Abyss. The other three are obtained separately in Township and Chasm of the Abyss; buying this one does not unlock the whole set.
