1. From Firelink, follow the uphill path past the Hollows and enter the aqueduct passage. Leave by its side exit and climb into Undead Burg. Reach the first bonfire in the room beside the small crossbow tower.
2. From the first Undead Burg bonfire, return toward the roof terrace with two spear Hollows. Break the crates beside the terrace to reveal stairs.
3. Go downstairs, leave through the side doorway and find the seated merchant on the balcony. Speak to him without attacking.
4. Buy Standard Bolt from the male Undead Merchant's ammunition inventory.

Firelink aqueduct / Lower Undead Burg

Requirements

• Keep the female Undead Merchant alive and friendly.

1. Use the Basement Key from Undead Parish to open the Lower Burg descent near the Hellkite bridge. Continue past the dogs and assassin ambushes toward the Capra Demon fog.
2. Take the stairs beside that fog down toward the Depths entrance. Follow the adjoining tower stairs up to the aqueduct passage.
3. Speak through the bars to the merchant, then open the nearby shortcut door back toward Firelink. Her stall can be revisited through that shortcut.
4. Buy Standard Bolt from the female Undead Merchant's ammunition inventory.

Sen's Fortress

Requirements

• Open Sen's Fortress by ringing both bells.
• Keep the Crestfallen Merchant alive and friendly.

1. Ring both bells and climb the fortress beyond Andre, passing the boulders and swinging blades until you reach the open roof.
2. Take a running jump over the gap in the upper walkway leading to a separate tower. Enter that tower and speak to the armored merchant.
3. Buy Standard Bolt from the Crestfallen Merchant's ammunition inventory.

Requirements

• Keep Andre alive and friendly.

1. From the Parish church, take the passage toward the building across from the church entrance. Descend to the bonfire, then continue downstairs into the workshop.
2. Speak to Andre at his anvil. Buying ammunition does not require an ember or a particular stage of his blacksmithing work.
3. Buy Standard Bolt from Andre of Astora's ammunition inventory.

Requirements

• Keep Domhnall of Zena alive and friendly.

1. Enter the Depths with the key from Capra Demon. Work through the sewers to the large chamber leading toward Gaping Dragon and find the seated merchant beside the locked Blighttown gate.
2. After both Bells of Awakening have been rung, look for him beneath the aqueduct near Firelink. Reach his ledge from the cliffside aqueduct approach. His location changes without creating a fresh copy of his finite stock.
3. Buy Standard Bolt from Domhnall of Zena's ammunition inventory.

Requirements

• Keep the Giant Blacksmith alive and friendly.

1. Reach the cathedral interior beyond the Silver Knight archers. From the upper floor above the main hall, take the side stairs leading down toward the blacksmith.
2. Find the seated giant working at the anvil and speak to him. Open the nearby outside door for a shorter return route. You can shop before defeating Ornstein and Smough.
3. Buy Standard Bolt from the Giant Blacksmith's ammunition inventory.

The Catacombs

Requirements

• Keep Vamos alive and friendly.

1. From Firelink graveyard, descend into the Catacombs and use the bridge switches to reach the deeper spiral stairways.
2. At the broken end of the spiral staircase, look below for the successive ledges. Drop from ledge to ledge toward the opening beside the blacksmith rather than jumping to the bottom.
3. Approaching Vamos triggers him to break a wall, opening access to his workshop. Speak to him without attacking. Remastered has a bonfire in this workshop.
4. Buy Standard Bolt from Vamos's ammunition inventory.

• Resting deep in the Catacombs before gaining warping can make the return climb difficult.

Royal Wood

Cost: 50 Souls · Stock: ∞

Requirements

• Access Artorias of the Abyss.
• Keep Marvellous Chester alive and friendly.

1. Defeat the Darkroot Basin Hydra, reload and follow the lake edge to the rear cave. Defeat the Golden Crystal Golem and speak to Dusk. After placing the Lordvessel, kill the blue golem near the Archives entrance lift for the Broken Pendant. Return to the cave, use the portal and defeat Sanctuary Guardian.
2. Cross the bridge from Oolacile Sanctuary and work through Royal Wood. Before entering Artorias's boss fog, cross the nearby bridge to the seated man leaning against the wall. Speak to Chester and open his shop.
3. Buy Standard Bolt from Marvellous Chester's ammunition inventory.

• Killing the real Chester removes this shop. His separate invading phantom is a different encounter.

Treasure pickup

Undead Burg

1. Start at the first Undead Burg bonfire. Return toward the rooftop with the two spear-and-shield Hollows and the concealed stairs down to the male merchant.
2. Go through the lower rooms toward the nearby ladder leading to the rooftops. Climb to the raised roof and line up the jump toward the adjacent broken building.
3. Jump across the gap and collect the Light Crossbow with 16 Standard Bolts from the corpse. The merchant's shop is an easier source if you only need ammunition.

• Heal before attempting the roof jump. Missing it can cause a long fall.
