Praise the Sun
- Meet the altar requirement: 25 Faith, reduced by 5 for each boss you help defeat while summoned into another player's world.
- After Taurus Demon, reach the long bridge guarded by the red Hellkite Dragon. Use the staircase halfway across the bridge to get below its flames, and kick down the ladder shortcut to the Undead Burg bonfire.
- Return to the bridge stairs and take cover in the corner nearest the dragon. When it leaves its perch to land on the bridge, run past it into the doorway beneath its perch and rest at the bonfire. You do not have to kill it.
- From the bonfire, step into the small open area beside the building and find the broken stone statue. This is the Altar of Sunlight.
- Pray at the altar once you meet its Faith requirement, then choose Learn gesture. Joining the Warrior of Sunlight covenant is a separate choice.
- The bridge dragon can burn the approach. Use the stairs down to the lower bridge as cover rather than standing in its fire.
Leaving and betrayal
Sunlight Spear requires membership and a separate Soul of Gwyn offering after reaching rank +1.
Leaving a covenant can reduce its recorded offerings and rank. A covenant item remaining in your inventory does not prove that its membership-dependent effect is still available. Absolution cannot revive a dead covenant leader.
