symbol of the Sun, is the ultimate honor,
awarded to those who summon the Warrior
of Sunlight and complete a goal.
The symbol represents Lord Gwyn's firstborn,
who lost his deity status and was expunged
from the annals. But the old God of War
still watches closely over his warriors.
Where to find
NPC rescue reward
Firelink Shrine: Lautrec
- In the Undead Parish church, reach the upper side passage behind a breakable wooden obstruction. Open Lautrec's cell with Mystery Key or Master Key and speak to him.
- Return to Firelink and speak to Lautrec seated near Anastacia's cell. He gives one Sunlight Medal for the rescue.
- Collect the gift before his murder quest advances. If you let him leave his cell on his own, this is not the same rescue reward.
Treasure pickup
Anor Londo: room opposite Solaire's bonfire
- Pass the Silver Knight archers and enter the cathedral residence wing. Find Solaire at the bonfire in the first side room.
- Cross the hallway into the opposite room. Defeat the spear-wielding Silver Knight and open its chest for three Sunlight Medals.
Repeatable enemy drop
Demon Ruins / Lost Izalith: Chaos Bug tunnel
- Find the shortcut tunnel to the side of the route before Demon Firesage. Its large door can be opened from the Demon Ruins side at Chaos Servant rank +2, or approached later from Lost Izalith.
- Defeat the Chaos Bugs along the tunnel and collect any Sunlight Medals they drop. Rest and repeat against the respawning bugs; the special red-eyed bug's Sunlight Maggot is a separate reward.
Cooperative boss reward
Eligible boss encounters
- Defeat a boss with a Warrior of Sunlight phantom still alive at the end. That golden phantom can be another player or Solaire at one of his available boss summons.
- Surviving party members receive a medal. You can also join Warrior of Sunlight, leave your own golden sign and help other players finish bosses.
Offline cooperative reward
Solaire's available boss encounters
- Keep Solaire alive and progress his conversations and quest as required for his summon signs. Reverse hollowing and use his sign before a compatible boss fog.
- Win with Solaire alive to earn a medal even while playing offline. His early opportunities include Bell Gargoyles and Gaping Dragon; later encounters depend on his quest progress.
Notes
- Offering location: Join Warrior of Sunlight at the broken altar beside the bonfire beneath the Hellkite bridge. Offer medals there to increase rank.
- Faith prerequisite: Joining starts with a 25 Faith requirement. Each boss defeated while summoned to help another player lowers that requirement by five; summoning Solaire into your own world is not that reduction.
- Ten-medal reward: Ten medals offered in total grant rank +1 and Great Lightning Spear. This also unlocks the separate Soul of Gwyn offering for Sunlight Spear. More medals alone do not award Sunlight Spear.
- Other ranks: Thirty and eighty medals reach +2 and +3. Those ranks do not award extra lightning spells or extra copies of the rank +1 reward.
- Crow alternative: Snuggly trades one Sunlight Medal for one White Titanite Chunk once per journey. That spends the medal without adding to covenant contributions.
- Golden phantom must survive: A summoned golden phantom dying before the boss does not satisfy the surviving-gold-phantom reward condition. Carrying a medal has no passive combat benefit.
