In-game description

Soul of one of the Four Kings, who fell to
Dark. A fragment of a Lord Soul discovered
at the dawn of the Age of Fire.

Lord Gwyn recognized the foresight of these
four great leaders of New Londo, and granted
them their ranks and the fragments of a
great soul. Although this is not a full Lord
Soul, it can still satiate the Lordvessel.

Where to find

Boss reward

New Londo Ruins: Four Kings

  1. Defeat Sif in Darkroot Garden and obtain Covenant of Artorias. In New Londo, get Key to the Seal from Ingward and operate the floodgate lever.
  2. Descend into the drained streets and continue through the Darkwraith-occupied ruins to the tower with the boss fog.
  3. Equip Covenant of Artorias before dropping from the tower stairs into the Abyss, and leave it equipped throughout the Four Kings fight.
  4. Defeat Four Kings to receive their Bequeathed Lord Soul Shard. If you have not placed the Lordvessel, speak to Kaathe before deciding where to go next.

Notes

  • Four Kings shard: This is the shard held by the Four Kings. Seath's reward has the same name but is another separate offering. Both are required.
  • Early completion: Four Kings can be fought before placing the Lordvessel. That timing is needed to meet Kaathe and begin the Darkwraith covenant route.
  • Ring is essential: Removing Covenant of Artorias during this fight kills you. Key to the Seal only drains the city and does not replace the ring's Abyss protection.
  • Offering: Offer this shard at the Firelink Altar with the other three Lordvessel rewards. It is not a consumable soul or weapon ingredient.
