}In-game description
Helm of the gargoyle, an enchanted creature
that guarded the Bell of Awakening in the
belfry of the Undead Church.
This bronze helm was for mere appearance's
sake, as gargoyle skin is naturally hard.
Little in the way of defense can be expected
from it.
Where to find
Enemy drop
Undead Parish roof / Anor Londo
- Defeat the Bell Gargoyles on the church roof and collect any helm drop. Cutting the tail gives the tail weapon, not the helmet.
- If the helm did not drop, continue to Anor Londo. Defeat the gargoyle near the first central platform and the second gargoyle reached when the rotating staircase is raised.
- Collect the later gargoyles' drops. The final Anor Londo gargoyle supplies the remaining ordinary gargoyle equipment not already received.
Notes
- Weight and poise: Equips on the head, weighs 3.5 and provides 8 poise. Poise helps resist stagger; it does not reduce health damage.
- Physical protection: Provides 15 normal physical defense at base reinforcement. Its strongest physical protection at this level is against slash damage. Different attack types use different physical defenses.
- Protection: At base reinforcement, its elemental defense is 15 magic, 15 fire, 15 lightning. Defense values are not percentages of incoming damage blocked.
- Status resistance: Adds 22 bleed, 19 poison and 0 curse resistance at base reinforcement. These help resist buildup; they do not cure an existing status.
- Reinforcement: Reinforce to +5 with Twinkling Titanite. Reinforcement improves defenses and resistances without changing weight, poise or maximum durability. Armor does not use weapon embers or elemental conversion paths.
- Separate headgear: There is no matching wearable gargoyle chest, gloves or leggings to collect.
- No weapon passive: The helm's resistances are its own armor stats. It does not grant the resistance passive associated with holding certain gargoyle weapons.
