}In-game description
Gigantic hat worn by the great sorcerer
Logan. It completely hid his face, which led
to his nickname "Big Hat."
Famously antisocial, Logan used it to block
out noise and people's stares so he could
focus on his own thoughts, but it does not
possess any special magic powers.
Where to find
Enemy drop
The Duke's Archives
Requirements
- Progress Logan's quest to his final hostile encounter.
- Complete Logan's Archives shop, defeat Seath and exhaust Logan's dialogue until he leaves the book room.
- Return to the room at the top of the Archives where the first, unwinnable Seath encounter took place. Defeat the hostile Logan and collect Big Hat.
Notes
- Weight and poise: Equips on the head, weighs 3 and provides 0 poise. This piece does not help you withstand hits without staggering.
- Physical protection: Provides 14 normal physical defense at base reinforcement. Its strongest physical protection at this level is against strike and slash damage. Different attack types use different physical defenses.
- Protection: At base reinforcement, its elemental defense is 43 magic, 7 fire, 17 lightning. Magic is its strongest elemental defense at this level. Defense values are not percentages of incoming damage blocked.
- Status resistance: Adds 13 bleed, 13 poison and 0 curse resistance at base reinforcement. These help resist buildup; they do not cure an existing status.
- Reinforcement: Reinforce to +5 with Twinkling Titanite. Reinforcement improves defenses and resistances without changing weight, poise or maximum durability. Armor does not use weapon embers or elemental conversion paths.
- Split pickup: The hat is a drop from Logan's final hostile encounter. The other three pieces come from the chest in his former book room.
- Two Traveling Gloves: Logan's Traveling Gloves and the Holy outfit's Traveling Gloves share a name but are different items. Their records and set memberships remain separate.
- Casting: Wearing Logan's clothes does not increase Intelligence or spell damage. The hat and robe use Twinkling Titanite; the gloves and boots use ordinary Titanite materials.
