}In-game description
Broad-brimmed hat favored by the archer hero
Pharis.
Pharis was an accomplished archer, and though
he was human, he ranked alongside Hawkeye
Gough, one of the Four Knights of Lord
Gwyn. His hat is universally popular among
children.
Where to find
Enemy drop
Darkroot Garden
- Enter the forest beyond the Crest of Artorias door, or climb the ladders beside the Hydra's waterfall to reach the same side.
- Find the bow-wielding Forest Hunter among the human guardians in the woods. Defeat the archer and collect Pharis's Hat with the Black Bow of Pharis.
- Attacking the forest guardians after joining their covenant betrays it. The archer does not respawn.
Notes
- Weight and poise: Equips on the head, weighs 1.2 and provides 0 poise. This piece does not help you withstand hits without staggering.
- Physical protection: Provides 7 normal physical defense at base reinforcement. Its strongest physical protection at this level is against strike damage. Different attack types use different physical defenses.
- Protection: At base reinforcement, its elemental defense is 5 magic, 7 fire, 6 lightning. Fire is its strongest elemental defense at this level. Defense values are not percentages of incoming damage blocked.
- Status resistance: Adds 6 bleed, 5 poison and 0 curse resistance at base reinforcement. These help resist buildup; they do not cure an existing status.
- Reinforcement: Reinforce to +10 using Titanite Shards, Large Titanite Shards, Titanite Chunks and a Titanite Slab. Reinforcement improves defenses and resistances without changing weight, poise or maximum durability. Armor does not use weapon embers or elemental conversion paths.
- Separate headgear: The Hunter starts with the three Leather pieces and an uncovered head. Pharis's Hat comes from a separate forest encounter, not from character creation or the basin corpse.
